There are so many beautiful locations around the Philadelphia area that provide the perfect backdrop for engagement photos and anniversary shoots. Beginning today, I will be giving you a peek into my favorites with a three-part blog series titled, “Great Engagement Shoot Locations Around Philadelphia”.
First up are three stunning engagement shoot locations that offer historical backdrops:
The Water Works and Philadelphia Art Museum is the perfect duo when choosing your engagement shoot location. Not only do you get a National Historic Landmark with the Fairmount Water Works, you also get the classical Greek architecture of the Museum. Basically, two unique locations in one!
When you enter Eakins Oval you’re immediately stuck by the breathtaking views of Boathouse Row and also the Center City skyline. My favorite time of day is during the golden hour when the sunsets over the Delaware River, casting a beautiful light over the cultural heart of our great city.
The soaring views of the Ben Franklin Bridge make Race Street Pier an ideal spot to capture engagement photos. Because of its grand views, this location lends itself to a more formal photoshoot. But, because the pier is picnic and dog-friendly, you can also dress down for a more casual vibe.
My favorite time of day to capture photos at Race Street Pier is sunrise. During this time, the sun sparkles off the water’s edge, providing a magical backdrop for photos.
When you have your engagement photos taken at Washington Square Park, you’re choosing to be a part of Philadelphia’s rich history. Surrounded by trees, monuments and the city itself, there are so many nooks and crannies for the perfect shot.
What are your favorite spots in the city? Do you plan to have your engagement shoot there?
